Our Vision
Lincoln School originally existed for the education of Black children in West Plains. Back then, segregation kept our community from sharing culture, wisdom, passions, and knowledge. Today, we continue the legacy of education at Lincoln School, but now we do it for ALL.
Programs
Now that Lincoln School has been beautifully restored, we are excited for the opportunity to provide a location for a diverse array of programs and services to benefit our community within this richly historic space.
Do you have a programming idea you think West Plains can benefit from? Contact us, and ask about having it at Lincoln School!

Educate
The stories of Lincoln School are essential to our shared history. Telling these stories in various mediums will be an ongoing project, but you can see how these stories are being told through documentaries and in the press.
Outreach
The school was once a central part of the community, and we want to return it to that by giving back.
Our hope is for “unity in our community” to be embodied through the programming options available at Lincoln School.

Lincoln School Light Award
The Lincoln School Light Award is a rare and distinguished honor bestowed upon individuals who embody the spirit of service, resilience, and quiet leadership that Lincoln School represents. This is not an annual award, nor do we accept nominations. Instead, we reserve this recognition for those whose lives reflect a steady light, guiding, uplifting, and inspiring others in meaningful and lasting ways. Through the lens of Lincoln School, we seek out citizens who are living examples of illumination—people whose presence brings dignity to the past and hope to the future.
